Serendipity
makes me smile
Two years ago yesterday (July 22, 2024) my second novel, The Nickel Loop released. It was a subdued release; not due to my original enthusiasm, but due to three days earlier my sister, Ann unexpectedly passed away. I marked that two year anniversary on the 19th but completely lost track that yesterday was my book’s birthday.
Serendipity dropped in through an Instagram post. A woman was visiting Glenwood Springs, Colorado where the story is set. She imagined a story about its history and the hotel. My novel found her when she stepped into a local book store (Alpenglow). She posted it.
The 22nd of July will never carry the weight the 19th does, nor should it. I was, however, tickled someone loved Glenwood Springs as I do. Delighted the local bookstore still carries my novel. Thrilled it enticed another. Happy belated book birthday to TNL. Thanks Ann for the serendipitous reminder.
(And thanks to littlebittydelights on Instagram for the surprise.

Nancy, both of your books sound wonderful! I’ve just added them both to my reading list. Way to go! ❤️
